$145 Million Patent Infringement Verdict for WiLAN Against Apple in California

McKool Smith secured a $145 million jury verdict for WiLAN against Apple in a patent infringement trial concerning WiLAN’s voice over LTE ("VoLTE") wireless communication technology used in many Apple products, including the iPhone 6 and 7. Read more here.

$10.6 Million Verdict for PanOptis Against Huawei in Texas

In August, McKool Smith secured a $10.6 million patent infringement verdict on behalf of Optis against Huawei. Jurors in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas in Marshall found that Huawei willfully infringed five PanOptis patents.  For more information, click here.

Final Judgment Awards Ericsson More Than $110 Million

A magistrate judge in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas reconsidered his order for a new trial on damages, reinstating a $75 million patent infringement verdict McKool Smith secured on behalf of Ericsson against TCL Communications. The Court also awarded Ericsson an additional $35 million in prejudgment interest and enhanced damages. Click here to learn more.

ITC Trial Win For TiVo/Rovi Against Comcast

McKool Smith's victory on behalf of TiVo's Rovi Corp. against Comcast Corp. before the International Trade Commission (ITC) is garnering widespread national media coverage. The ITC found that Comcast violated section 337, which involves imports.  Click here to see all the media coverage.

PTAB Trial Win in Surgical Patent Dispute

McKool Smith secured a complete win for patent owner Dr. Ford Albritton IV in an inter partes review trial before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). This marks the second inter partes review win for Dr. Albritton against Acclarent, Inc. concerning the validity of Dr. Albritton’s surgical device patent.  Read more here.
