Principal Nick Matich spoke with Managing IP on the USPTO proposed guidelines for implementing Trademark Modernization Act (TMA). Attorneys are divided over whether the proposed guideline could deter bad actors from abusing it. Nick believes, “fraudulent companies probably won’t want to bring themselves to the attention of the USPTO, which means that they are unlikely to file these proceedings against legitimate brands.” Read the article here.
