McKool Smith principal David Dehoney and associate Veronica Manning will present Shining a Light on Solar Energy Projects: Impact of Mineral Issues on Solar Leasing" at the Annual Institute of the EMLF on June 22. "The presentation considers areas ripe for disputes in solar energy projects in light of prevailing renewable energy market conditions and contracting practices, including the impact of mineral issues on solar leases and application of traditional oil and gas lease defenses (e.g., the reasonable accommodation doctrine). In doing so, we will review recent disputes in the solar energy space and the possible genesis of future disputes involving mineral owners and solar energy developers."
