Episode 12 of Behind the Trial features an interview with Randall Jackson, partner of Willkie Farr & Gallagher, an international firm providing leading-edge solutions on complex, business critical issues spanning markets and industries. Randall is co-chair of Willkie's White-Collar defense practice group. As a leading trial lawyer, Randall has quickly ascended from a "rising star of New York's white-collar bar to one of its established trial powerhouses." The podcast discusses his experience at Willkie and also as a former Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. Randall discusses techniques that have helped him excel in court and his commitment to diversity and developing the next generation of leading trial lawyers.
The interview highlights the major defense victory Randall recently obtained, along with partner Michael Schachter, on behalf of client Tom Barrack, founder of the global investment firm Colony Capital. The seven-week jury trial involved allegations of illegal foreign lobbying, obstruction of justice and other charges against Barrack and his former assistant Matthew Grimes. The jury fully acquitted Barrack and Grimes, finding them not guilty on all charges.
Randall is ranked by Chambers USA (2022) as one of the leading attorneys in the area of Litigation: White-Collar Crime & Government Investigations and recognized as a “Litigation Star” in the 2023 edition of Benchmark Litigation.
