The article discusses the fear of repeating the "squandered Big Tobacco settlements, a wave of individuals is expected to join the Purdue Pharma LP bankruptcy to claim money for treatment and care, which could shrink payouts to cities, counties, and states." Hugh stated, "there just isn’t enough money in the world to sufficiently compensate the various victims of the opioid crisis—including the municipalities and states still reeling from the destruction caused by addiction."
