Law360 reported on the disqualification of Judge Timothy Sweeney from EQT suits in the article, "W.VA. High Court Orders Judge Disqualified from EQT Suits." The article reports “EQT alleged that Judge Sweeney failed to disclose improper financial and personal interests in the outcome of royalty disputes due to owning and overseeing oil and gas interests in the counties he presides over.” Hence, EQT prevailed in having the judge "barred from presiding over three oil and gas royalty lawsuits against the company in light of the judge's own oil and gas interest ownership."
EQT is represented by McKool Smith principal Kristin Leveille.
