Commenting on a recent Delaware Supreme Court ruling that insurance company Chubb is not required to provide coverage and defend Rite Aid in thousands of lawsuits accusing the pharmacy chain operator of fueling the opioid epidemic, Los Angeles principal Michael Miguel said, “There certainly will be a short-term jump in the number of insurance companies filing suit in Delaware, searching for any grounds they can find (to have their cases tried in the state). It’s not 100% clear the Delaware Supreme Court got this one right. It’s pretty out of character for them to take such a hard line on these kinds of issues.” Read the article here.
