On Monday, September 26, 2016, Texas House Speaker Joe Straus announced that Dallas principal Steve Wolens has been appointed to the eight-member Texas Ethics Commission (TEC). Founded in 1991, the TEC is responsible for administering and enforcing sections of the election code and other statutory provisions generally governing politics and ethics in the state.
