DALLAS – The law firm of McKool Smith has earned its second consecutive selection to the Midsize Hot List, a compilation of the top law firms in the U.S. with 50-150 attorneys.
The exclusive annual list published by The National Law Journal includes only 20 firms from across the nation, and McKool Smith is one of only two firms to earn selection for the second year in a row.
“There are many, many law firms eligible for this honor, which is why we’re so pleased McKool Smith is included again this year,” says firm co-founder Mike McKool. “We’ve had several significant courtroom wins over the past couple years, and we’ve also worked hard to grow the firm in areas that are important to our clients.”
In the list published July 12, 2010, the publication describes McKool Smith’s rapid expansion in bankruptcy cases and related litigation based on the firm’s ability to avoid conflicts with major banks.
The National Law Journal also notes that McKool Smith has won eight of the country’s Top 100 Verdicts during the past two years – more than any other law firm in the nation.
Since the firm was featured in the inaugural Midsize Hot List last summer, the publication notes, McKool Smith also has added several experienced bankruptcy attorneys in the firm’s Houston and New York offices.
“Our growth in bankruptcy as well as the increasing role we’re playing in white collar litigation has really complimented our core work in commercial litigation and complex intellectual property cases,” says Mr. McKool. “We pride ourselves on being a nimble business partner for our clients, and providing these types of services is just one of the ways we’re working to help keep our clients ahead.”
With more than 130 litigators working as an integrated team across offices in New York, Washington, D.C. and Texas, McKool Smith has established a reputation as one of America’s leading trial firms. The firm has been recognized by The National Law Journal and VerdictSearch for winning more Top 100 verdicts than any other U.S. law firm during the past three years. McKool Smith represents leading clients across a broad range of practice areas, including complex commercial litigation, intellectual property, bankruptcy, and white collar defense.
