McKool Smith P.C., dba McKool Smith Hennigan in California, has relocated its Los Angeles office to One California Plaza, a LEED Gold Certified building located at 300 South Grand Avenue in the prestigious Bunker Hill district in downtown Los Angeles.
“We are very excited about the move,” said J. Michael Hennigan, a founding principal of McKool Smith Hennigan. “Being in One California Plaza puts us very close to the federal and state courts, and right in the center of the Los Angeles arts and culture scene.”
Designed by Arthur Erickson Architects and completed in 1985, One California Plaza totals 1,039,449 square feet and is part of the California Plaza Development, which is situated on a 2.23-acre site and features a 1.5-acre water court that provides dramatic multilevel public spaces with outdoor seating. The building has a distinct vertical profile with curving reflective glass walls and a neon halo encircling, and includes a five-level subterranean parking garage. Tenants of the tower include Bank of the West; Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP; and Morgan Lewis & Bockius.
McKool Smith Hennigan’s Los Angeles office was launched in September 2011 with the joining of 35 trial lawyers from Hennigan Dorman LLP, a Los Angeles-based trial firm that specialized in high-stakes financial litigation and intellectual property disputes. The firm further expanded its West Coast footprint by opening a second California office in Silicon Valley in May 2012.
The firm’s new address in Los Angeles is: One California Plaza, 300 South Grand Avenue, Suite 2900, Los Angeles, CA 90071.
With more than 185 trial lawyers across offices in Austin, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Marshall, New York, Silicon Valley, and Washington, D.C., McKool Smith has established a reputation as one of America’s leading trial firms. Since 2006, the firm has secured nine nine-figure jury verdicts, as well as ten eight-figure jury verdicts. The firm has also won more VerdictSearch and The National Law Journal "Top 100 Verdicts" over the last eight years than any other law firm in the country. Courtroom successes like these have earned McKool Smith critical acclaim and helped the firm become what The Wall Street Journal describes as “one of the biggest law firm success stories of the past decade.” McKool Smith represents clients in complex commercial litigation, intellectual property, bankruptcy, and white collar defense matters.
