Austin managing principal Steve Pollinger recently published an article in Law360 titled, “Much More Than East Texas Is At Stake In TC Heartland.” The article explains that after the oral argument, set for March 27, the Supreme Court will determine where patent cases can be filed under the patent venue statute, 28 U.S.C. § 1400(b). This decision will affect all federal districts across our nation by determining whether companies large and small can seek redress for the infringement of their patents in their home districts, or whether they must file suit in the infringers’ home districts.
