McKool Smith principal Richard Kamprath and associate Abigail Clark published the article, "Hedonic Regression Shows Promise For Modeling IP Damages" in Law360. In VLSI Technology LLC v. Intel Corp. procedure, VLS proposed a 3-pronged damage model, where hedonic regression was utilized in the analysis to model damages. The hedonic method is a “statistical model of varying complexity to determine how a specific characteristic, such as a patented feature, affects the price of a particular product, such as a product accused of infringement.” For more details, click here.
