Overview
Liam Murphy is an associate in McKool Smith’s New York office. He focuses his practice on high-stakes securities, commercial, and bankruptcy litigation, as well as white-collar criminal and regulatory enforcement defense.
Prior to joining McKool Smith, Liam worked at both a top litigation boutique and a global big law firm, where he represented an array of clients including cryptocurrency investors and institutions, corporate shareholders and directors, founders of global companies and international environmental nonprofits, bankruptcy trustees, top law firms, and a senior presidential advisor. In his pro bono practice, Liam has represented members of Congress and firearm suicide survivors in appeals on constitutional issues involving gun violence prevention.
Outside his legal practice, Liam is a thought leader in cryptocurrency litigation and is a published author in legal journals, including the International Financial Law Review, Law360, and the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Constitutional Law.
