Overview
Aileen is an attorney in McKool Smith's New York office. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation. Most recently, her practice has concentrated on litigation stemming from the 2008 global financial crisis, representing trustees of residential mortgage-backed securitizations in actions seeking to recover damages from the investment banks who packaged and sold defective mortgage loans. She also devotes time to pro bono immigration matters and has successfully represented clients in their applications for asylum from various countries including Jamaica, Ecuador, Honduras, and Guatemala.
While attending Brooklyn Law School, she was awarded the Judge Doris A. Thompson and Judge Edward Thompson Award for Excellence in Professional Skills for her work at the Safe Harbor Clinic. Aileen was also awarded the Carol Mehlman Gould Prize for her contribution to women's rights, and the Samuel Witte Prize in Literature and the Law.
Prior to joining the firm, Aileen gained experience representing clients in a wide variety of litigation matters including complex financial products litigation and contractual disputes.
