Overview
Eliza Beeney is a versatile commercial litigator in McKool Smith’s New York office. She focuses her practice on intellectual property, including licensing disputes and litigation involving standard essential patents and the F/RAND commitment. Eliza’s broad IP experience includes patent, trademark, and copyright infringement, antitrust, and indemnification claims. She has litigated in state and federal courts across the country and before the ITC, PTAB, and arbitral panels in the United States and Europe.
Prior to joining the firm, Eliza clerked in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York and prior to her clerkship, Eliza was a litigation associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell. Eliza attended Cornell Law School where she was an editor for the Cornell Law Review, Executive Vice Chancellor of the Moot Court Board, and a member of the Cornell Women’s Law Coalition. She also worked in Cornell’s Capital Punishment Clinic and authored a note selected for publication in the Law Review.
Eliza has been recognized as a “Rising Star” in New York by Super Lawyers since 2021 and was recently named among the Top Most Active and Performing Attorneys Representing Complainants by the Patexia ITC Intelligence Report.
